The campus of BME has a diverse building heritage built from the late 19th century to the present day. Among the facades rich in architectural motifs, the simple plastered surface of the ground floor facade of the MT laboratory building on Bertalan Lajos Street, almost offers itself to the appearance of a characteristic motif or pattern. The aim of the TDK project is to create a work of art that thematically expresses and enriches the world of the campus, using any material or pattern.

In contemporary architecture and (fine) arts, we are witnessing a resurgence of ornamentation, geometric patterns and images, due to the spread of digital imaging techniques. Through ornamentation, architecture is able to develop a more easily understood common language with its users. The Student research deals with the theoretical and architectural context of this phenomenon, extending it to any historical period and culture. The narrower topic may be in support of a current design task, or may be independently oriented.

Until something is done with the plot in Zebegény, the children could live there, said Uncle Kálmán, and Uncle Egon added that at most one of them could live there with his friend or his girlfriend, because we are not building a hotel, we don't have that kind of money. According to Aunt Zsóka, the house shouldn't be big either, but we should think about friends, at least they could enjoy themselves in the garden. It would also be nice if they could help build it, because there is no way they can have everything done by craftsmen at a gold price. All three brothers agreed on this, it was just a matter of deciding which child would be chosen to go to university in Budapest for a few years from this wonderful place.

Since all the children were interested, Uncle Kálmán proposed a competition: the one who could win over the family jury would have the right to build. Everyone has his or her own criteria: for him, building the house with his own hands and choosing the right materials are the most important, for Aunt Zsóka, it's about cosiness and versatility; Uncle Egon thinks it would be good if the construction of the house and its subsequent demolition involved as little intervention as possible. In any case, the three brothers agreed that it would be a pity to build a large house on the plot at 42 Szőnyi István Street, Zebegény, or at least than the one the most influential architect of the 20th century designed for himself in 1951.
